Resumen

The non-uniform wakegenerated by the water flow through the propeller creates fluctuating forces onthe propulsion shaft, called propeller excitation forces. This article presents asummary of the methodology for the analysis of forced vibrations of the hullgirder by propeller excitations. This methodology ispresented applied, as sample, on a research boat. The procedure has beendeveloped using the finite element model of hull girder, on which propellerexcitation forces are applied; analyzed in the operating range. With this methodology, vibration levels in the structure of the ship are obtained, and these resultsare compared with the vibration limits proposed by ISO 6954 (2000). The model included all shipstructures, rudder and propulsion lines with their respective supports. Addedmass and damping in all submerged elements were considered.
