Resumen

The design of the station keeping system for floating offshore wind turbines (FOWT) plays an important role in the development of wind energy projects due to the complexities associated with the applied loads and the non-linear behavior of the system. This article intents to develop a suitable proposal for the structural design to the connection point of the mooring chain for the DeepCwind OC4 semi-submersible platform. The fairlead tension of the catenary mooring lines and the dynamic behavior of the platform were analyzed using the time domain simulation tool Open Fast. The designed structure has been evaluated for fatigue damage under normal load conditions and for limit strength under extreme loads to ensure a reliable and safe operation of the connection point. The effect of turbulent wind, irregular waves, currents, marine growth and the control system of the turbine were considered to determine the fairlead tension of the mooring lines.

With respect to the proposed structural design to the connection point, the result obtained was a connection point with the adequate stiffness in the directions in which the loads generated by the mooring lines, with few concentration points observed. And the implementation of the state of the art for structural details about fatigue resistance, typical in ship design structures, have proved to be satisfactory for the design of the surrounding structure of the mooring point.
